Whether you hunt behind a pointer or a flusher, the excitement is overwhelming...walking the fields, hearing the crackle of stubble beneath your boots, watching the dogs on the trail of a wily pheasant.
Shotguns, ammo and eye protection will be provided. You will need a California hunting license with an upland game stamp. A light lunch will be provided prior to the hunt. Join us and take some pheasant home for your Thanksgiving dinner!
Workshop Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel three weeks or less prior to the workshop date, you will forfeit 100% of your registration unless you provide a replacement, or someone on the waiting list accepts your spot.
Print out a flyer and post it in a place where women will see it and have the opportunity to register for the workshop! Your gym, local sporting goods stores, etc.
"In my younger days, I was very much an avid upland game hunter. Out at sunrise and again until sunset on most days with my dog and a couple of friends is how I would spend pheasant season. Born and raised in Yolo County provided me some excellent hunting opportunities. That all ended about 16-17 years ago, I moved to Sacramento, then my one true love – Megan, my Brittany, passed away, and hunting became a distant memory.
That is until this November, when I signed up for the pheasant hunt sponsored by BOW [Becoming an Outdoors-Woman]. This would be a day of firsts for me.
First time I hunted with total strangers, first time on a pheasant/duck club’s land, first time I had so many wonderful dogs hunting with handlers and I can’t remember the last time I limited out because of too many birds.
What a glorious day; the incredible women hunters, the dogs and handlers, the weather was perfect, the experience of hunting Wilderness Unlimited land, the large amount of birds, all these things helped make this an unforgettable experience.
Thanks BOW and Susan for putting some new life in this “old hunter”.
Now that the dust is off the shotgun and I have a few shells left… let’s do it again!"

For our Pheasant Hunt, you’ll need a Hunting License from the California Department of Fish and Game. While you’re on the DFG website, take a look at the Upland Game Bird Regulations.
