Westminster Woods
Camp and Conference Center
Sonoma County
Participant Limit: 100
Cost: $365
Westminster Woods is located northwest of Santa Rosa in the rolling hills north of the Russian River in Sonoma County. The site is on 1,000 acres of open meadow and has redwoods, madrones, firs and oak trees. It is a beautiful setting to learn the basic outdoor skills and receive hands-on training and experience in several outdoor activities.
Skills include archery, fly fishing, fly tying, map and compass, outdoor/Dutch oven cooking, shotgun shooting, knot tying, backpacking, kayaking, a ropes course and more. Workshop instructors are certified in their field and include professional biologists, hunters, anglers, and other outdoor enthusiasts; all who specialize in providing exceptional training for women.
The workshop registration fee covers all instruction, equipment, and supplies (except a fishing license required for open water fishing), three days and two nights lodging, seven fabulous sit-down meals, two evening programs and entertainment, merchandise and more. The fun, the renewed confidence, the camaraderie and the memories are all yours at no extra charge. Several photographers will be in attendance to provide lasting memories of a wonderful event.
And, understanding the state of the economy, we’re going to make it easier for you to attend the Multi-Course Workshop and easier for us to project how many will attend…it’s a win-win. If you make a $100 deposit now toward the workshop, you will be assured a space. Then, at a later date, you can pay the balance. That way, it’s not such a big chunk all at once. So, register with your deposit and take advantage of this “easier way to pay”. Some have already taken advantage of this easy-pay, and we thank you.
Registration deadline is September 21.
Workshop Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel three weeks or less prior to the workshop date, you will forfeit 100% of your registration unless you provide a replacement, or someone on the waiting list accepts your spot.
Print out a flyer and post it in a place where women will see it and have the opportunity to register for the workshop! Your gym, local sporting goods stores, etc.
“On the morning of October 23, 2009 I loaded my suitcase in my car and headed to the Wonder Valley ranch near Pine Flat Lake. I was very reluctant as to whether I wanted to go or not. I have had the opportunity to go several times over the years, but declined.
On Friday afternoon I did the Kayak class. I have never been in a kayak before. It was a ball! We went up and down the River several times. At dinner that evening, I sat at a table with a young lady named Rita. She was from northern California. As the evening and days passed others joined our table and we all became friends. Five of us made a pact to come back next year.
On Saturday morning I took the Pole Hiking class. I am not much of a hiker but with the poles it made the walk up and down hills much easier. On Saturday afternoon I took the Outdoor Dutch Oven cooking class. We paired up and we made a total of eight dishes. The pots were all cooked over an open camp fire. The food turned out great and we got to eat it all! We were stuffed.
Saturday evening after dinner the group of about 100 gals joined in for some fun as we played guessing games at each table. It was a lot of fun.”
